Love Perth Life attended PechaKucha night in Perth for an evening of inspiring talks, wine and cheese. PechaKucha is a global public speaking concept that originated in Japan in 2003. It gives everyday people the chance to share their ideas, thoughts and works in an informal setting. Presenters are given just over 5 minutes to discuss their topic alongside 20 slides that automatically change every 20 seconds (the 20×20 concept).
The stand out talk of the night was on the topic of altruism. The speaker shared his 10 year journey with infertility with great poise and openness. It eventuated in the couple receiving donated embryos to achieve their dream of having a family, which would not have been possible without the kindness of complete strangers. His touching story encouraged the audience to think of simple ways to show more kindness in their everyday lives.
The event was held at the lovely Feld and Co in Booragoon and was a full house. There were plenty of opportunities to chat and network, whilst enjoying nibbles from the impressive grazing board. For just $10 entry, the night was great value.
