Last Saturday, Love Perth Life attended a hands-on workshop where we got to make our own terrariums. Terrariums are basically mini gardens in a jar that become their own eco-systems. What I like most about them is that they pretty hard to kill and require little or no maintenance… which is perfect for me as I don’t usually have much luck with indoor plants!

The workshop was run by Renee from Leaf & Moss. It was held at the Eco Pop-up Shop in Enex 100 that is home to a wide range of natural products. The session went for about 1 hour at a nice and relaxing pace, a perfect way to start off the weekend. Everything was set up for us and the instructor talked us through the process as we created our terrariums with our own creative flair. There were rocks, shells, different coloured gravel, pieces of moss and a selection of plants we could choose from to decorate our work pieces.

Best of all, we got to take our terrarium home and were taught how to look after them. Workshop attendees also left the workshop with detailed knowledge on how to make more terrariums at home, which would make a relaxing hobby or a beautiful gift for someone special.

At a cost of $75, the workshop was excellent value. Look out for more workshops run by Leaf & Moss by following them on Facebook or Instagram. Or if you prefer to buy something already made, Renee lists her stockists on the Leaf & Moss website.
