Earlier this month Love Perth Life caught up with local Makeup Artist Vera Coleski who named W.A fashion blogger Perth Style Source as one of her favourite Instragrams, and for good reason!
With close to 4,000 followers on Instagram alone, Perth Style Source is quickly establishing itself as one of W.A’s leading fashion blogs and here is why.
Unlike many of its competitors, Perth Style Source manages to bring together local businesses, collating information from stores around Perth and offering its audience a where and how to buy.
The fashions are affordable and attainable! Important points of difference as too often do I (and I’m sure most women) find myself admiring a pair of shoes, or outfit which is eithera.WAY out of my price range, or b. not available in my city, and while online shopping can sometimes offer an alternative I must admit it is nice to try something on!
Perth Style Source keeps it local, and keeps you in the know.
Creator Elle Pierce personally described the blog as a “platform for men and women to discover and rediscover boutiques, and a creative space for individuals who seek style inspiration or simply want to find out who’s having a sale and where.
Just like the name suggests, Perth Style Source is an online directory where anyone can come to source information about what’s happening on the retail scene in Perth.
I post about flash sales, public holiday opening hours, new arrivals, and store events – Basically anything to do with boutiques in Perth you are bound to find on Perth Style Source”.
Perth Style Source was launched earlier this year by 22 year old marketing graduate Elle Pierce.
Since she was 16 Elle described having an ‘obsession’ with fashion, a passion she decided needed an outlet after studying abroad in London.
Having studied Business in Fashion, Elle now found herself with a new understanding of the industry as well as an idea which was yet to be done in W.A, soon after Perth Style Source was born.
Already Perth Style Source has been an integral part of helping build audiences for a number of Perth boutiques such as Savvy Brands, Varga Girl, The Annex Brands, Peachy, Emporia, Since I Found You, Twenty-Four Seven Lifestyle Studio and Harpers Emporium, to name a few.
In a matter of months Elle has already achieved so much.
Just this past June, Perth Style Source styled and coordinated a campaign with Mode and Affaire, working with small Perth Businesses such as Vera Coleski for Makeup, Alana Rodriques for Umbrellas, Model Evelyn Leckie and photographer David Cowe.
The campaign included one of Elle’s must have trends for winter…fur; “I’ve read countless articles recently about fur being a timeless staple to any wardrobe and how many people have been given furs as an heirloom, handed down by their mothers and grandmothers.
Labels such as Mode & Affaire who we collaborated with recently, have crafted vests, scarves and collars to adapt to cities with warmer winter climates simply because they’ve recognised there is such a market for fur products”.
As for the future of Perth Style Source Elle says it is looking bright; “one day I hope to provide a service to the wider Australian fashion community whilst continuing to strengthen ties with stores and brands that are WA-bred. In the short term, look out for events and more collaborative creations with Perth small businesses”.
So whether you are looking for some style inspiration, trendy local boutiques or need help raising awareness for your brand or business, Perth Style Source is for you.
