Q & A with Northbridge Brewing Company

Ahead of the highly anticipated opening of the Northbridge Brewing Co. We chat to Natasha Stickland, Northbridge Brewing Company Venue Manager about what visitors can expect from the new venue.

 

Who is behind the NBC concept?

NBC and Beerland Brewing is a concept that has been developed over the past seven years by Michael Keiller, Michael Rasheed and Ben Rasheed, who between them own and operate an extensive portfolio of hospitality assets.

How would you describe the beer at NBC?

Exceptionally well-made brews are our focus. NBC’s custom built brewery currently produces four beers onsite including Beerland Lager, Beerland Pale Ale, Beerland Wheat and Beerland Mild.

Beerland Lager is an all malt continental lager; Beerland Pale Ale is a bright pale ale in the Australian style dosed with hops; Beerland Wheat is a classic Bavarian style brew; and Beerland Mild is a traditional English ale big on flavour but with a lower alcohol content.

All four of our craft beers have an NBC twist – you’ll have to sample yourself!

What makes the beer here unique?

NBC’s highly awarded Master Brewer Ken Arrowsmith has a lifetime of beer making experience. Team that with one of the most advanced breweries of its size in Australia and we think we have something pretty unique.

What goes in to brewing the perfect beer?

A LOVE of beer; a Master Brewer who loves making a great beer or ale more than breathing; a brewery which has a reverse osmosis water system, guaranteeing the purity of the water being used; and a step-wise infusion process allowing for extra flexibility to fine tune the characteristics of its beer.

What can customers expect from a NBC experience?

NBC provides a relaxed environment, unlike any other venue in Northbridge, where exceptionally well-made beer is the focus. There will also be a full bar including a range of beers and ciders, along with an extensive wine list.

The family-friendly venue also provides a quality food menu and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.

NBC comprises two storeys of bar and dining area, along with a Skydeck Bar, all overlooking the Northbridge Piazza and the city skyline.

The venue caters to every beer drinker, whether you are a beer aficionado, a novice hoping to increase your product knowledge or people who just share a love for the amber liquid. There are also a number of tasting options available including tasting trays; a Brew Master tasting package with our Master Brewer, Ken Arrowsmith; and the opportunity to be a Brewer for a Day.
